What is sustainable fashion?
Sustainable fashion is a term that’s used to an increasing extent these days, as we all become ever more aware of the serious environmental impact of our clothes – with the industry responsible for a shocking 4-10% (McKinsey, 2020) of global Carbon dioxide every year.
But what does sustainable fashion actually mean?
It is the behavior and process that promotes the transformation of fashion products and fashion systems to more ecological integrity and society. From the consumer's point of view, it is advocating sustainable design, production and consumption.
In a few words, it’s a blanket term for apparel that are created and consumed in a way that can be, quite literally, sustained and conscious, while insisting the certain way to be environmentally-friendly during the process of producing garments.
Why sustainable fashion?
It’s clear that 2021 has to be the year that fashion accelerates its action on the climate crisis. Sustainable fashion is not just a trend anymore, instead it is going to be or it already is an unavoidable guideline for our daily life. Either you are a consumer, an apparel business or a fashion producer, we are supposed to fulfill our social responsibility.
